X is for the Xantus’s Hummingbird

Yes, we have finally reached the letter X in our A-Z journey through the wonders of our natural world. And this little bird is only found in Baja, California and was named after a Hungarian zoologist called John Xantus.

They are extremely small, only 9 cm, are incredibly fast, they can fly up to 34mph and they give me the perfect excuse to share this wonderful video.
